Attend an evening with Andre Agassi
1454BST: Pamela Jelimo, of Kenya, who, we should add, is 18 years old, won the women's 800m in 1min 54.87sec, beating Janeth Jepkosgei Busienei, her compatriot, and Hasna Benhassi, of Morrocco. Jelimo becomes the first woman from Kenya to win an Olympic gold.
1448BST: There have been sightings of handbags at the men's weightlifting. Andrei Aramnau, of Belarus, broke a series of world records to win the gold, lifting a total of 436kg. Marcin Dolega, of Poland, in a desperate attempt to take gold, upped his weight, but failed miserably. He angrily pounded the barbell with his fist after the lift went wrong and failed twice more. A fuming Dolega thundered past reporters after the competition, refusing to answer any questions. Tart.
1425BST: Brimin Kipruto, of Kenya, wins the men’s 3000 metres steeplechase in 8min 10.24sec, ahead of Mahiedine Mekhissi, of France, with Richard Kipkemboi Mateelong, of Kenya, claiming bronze. Ezekiel Kemboi, the defending champion also of Kenya, finished seventh, more than five seconds off the pace.
1409BST: Heartbreak for Britain's Greg Rutherford - the flame-haired long-jumper from Milton Keynes is out of the Games. Having fouled in the first two rounds, he produces a third jump of just 7.84m and that's not enough to get him into the top eight who will go on to complete three more rounds.
To put that into context he qualified for this final with a leap of 8.14m and his personal best at 8.26m would almost certainly have won him a medal here today.
1358BST: Nervous times for Britain's Greg Rutherford in the long jump. That's a second no-jump and he will have just one more chance to qualify for the final three jumps of the competition.
1344BST: Great performance from Britain's Natasha Danvers, she finishes second in the first semi-final of the women's 400m hurdles in a season's best of 54.31sec and goes through to the Olympic final. She says: "I'm very pleased the way things are panning out. Phase two complete and now I'll get ready for the real big show.
"To say I'm in the final again eight years on after having a baby and god knows what in between, I'm delighted."
1338BST: You'd think that as a pole vaulter you would keep a pretty close eye on your pole. Well, apparently not, well not if you're Brazil's Fabiana Murer, who has somehow managed to misplace hers. As a result the women's pole vault has ground to a bit of a halt while she frantically hunts for it.
Yelena Isinbayeva, the defending champion and world record holder, doesn't look too impressed she's drifting off to sleep with a towel over her face while everyone else runs around in a flap.
Never a dull moment at the Bird's Nest.
1330BST: Britons Christian Malcolm and Marlon Devonish have both qualified for the semi-finals of the men's 200m are coming through as fastest-losers. But while Usain Bolt continues to do what he's doing at the moment the final is a race for silver and bronze at best.
