Haradasun showed top-class form in his native country, twice winning in the highest grade and finishing a good third in the Cox Plate last October. At his best over a mile with some cut in the ground, the forecast rain should provide him with his ideal conditions and he can make a winning start for his new trainer.

Any ease in the ground would also help Balkan Knight, who can land the Enter The Flat totetentofollow Stakes (2.10). Beaten a head by Distinction in this race two years ago, he should strip fitter for a recent run at Newmarket.

Colony has improved with each start and powered clear of his rivals for an emphatic success at Sandown on his reappearance. He should be able to defy an 8lb rise in the totescoop6 London Gold Cup (3.20).

The best bet of the day is Royal Rock in the totetentofollow.co.uk Handicap (3.55). Progressive last season, he impressed when winning on his return at Yarmouth and can take this before making his mark in pattern company.
