Sir Clive Woodward goes back to Leicester

Sir Clive Woodward has accepted an invitation to join the board of directors at Leicester, the Guinness Premiership champions. Woodward played for the club from 1979 to 1985.

Since resigning as England’s head coach in September 2004, Woodward, right, has coached the British Isles on their tour to New Zealand and worked in football with Southampton before, in September 2006, he became director of elite performance for the BOA. He will be joined on the Leicester board by another former player, Rory Underwood, the former England wing, who works in management consultancy. Terry Gateley, a Leicester supporter and former senior partner at KPMG, the accountancy firm, was announced by Leicester yesterday as a third new director.
