Stephen Jones: win gives real cause for optimism
Rob Kearney - worked hard to become involved but all the good work was being done in front of him so opportunities were limited. 5
Tommy Bowe - full of confidence, full of running but distribution as much a characteristic of a game in which he scored two tries and made two more. 8
Brian O'Driscoll - everything you would want as player and leader, generated confidence around him and locked up the midfield. 8
Jamie Roberts - must think touring with Lions is easy. Another hugely impressive game, took his tries well and underlined credentials for the test series. 9
Ugo Monye - overcame a hesitant start to display both speed and strength, will derive confidence that he belongs in this company. 6
Stephen Jones - missed only one kick at goal but ran a genuine team effort very well, at the forefront of the Lions' attacking intent. 7
Mike Phillips - pushed himself to the front of the scrum half queue, made a couple of trademark breaks, needs to trust his support more. 6
Gethin Jenkins - as strong at the finish as he was at the start, scrummaged well against a solid Golden Lions unit and offered consistently in the loose. 7
Lee Mears - one overthrow but very sound display in all facets elsewhere. Worked hard in loose play and will be happy to have represented beleaguered Bath so well. 7
Phil Vickery - has been quietly determined to impose himself on this tour and did so with quality work in the tight and loose. 7
Nathan Hines - best effort came in the set scrums, ball thrown elsewhere in the lineout but happy to do the vital, unseen donkey work. 6
Alun-Wyn Jones - covered the ground remarkably well for a lock, deserved a try for his efforts but fell just short, good evening's work. 7
Tom Croft - utterly dependable at the lineout but his pace took opponents by surprise, earned him one try and very nearly a second, did not neglect basic duties. 7
David Wallace - strong on the ball and in the tackle, took a heavy knock early on and deserved his rest, having also played on Saturday. 7
Jamie Heaslip - content to leave his flankers to do the flash stuff but every chance that he and Phillips will be at the heart of the test side as the No 8/scrum half link. 7
Replacements:
Stephen Ferris - made the most of his first appearance by outstripping all comers for the last try of the night. 6
James Hook - replaced O'Driscoll then moved to fly half, happy to be the link in an effective chain. 6
Shane Williams - on the end of a disjointed back line and did his best work in defence 5
Played less than 20 minutes: Harry Ellis, Andy Powell, Ross Ford, Euan Murray
