2 for 1 at Pizza Express
Andy Murray will meet Mario Ancic in the second round of the Open Sabadell Atlantico in Barcelona.
The British No1 was given a bye in the first round and will now play the Croatian who brushed aside Mischa Zverev 6-1, 6-0 on the clay. The pair have met three times before, all on hard courts, and Ancic currently enjoys a 2-1 head-to-head lead over the 20-year-old Scot. However, in their last meeting Murray squandered two match points before Ancic won a third set tie-break.
Murray accepted a wildcard entry into the tournament as he looks to to step up his preparations for next month's French Open. Murray is widely expected to make further progress up the rankings in the next three months, after a wrist injury that kept him out of action from May until August last year means he will have no ranking points to defend.
Murray will be looking to bounce back from a straight sets defeat by Novak Djokovic in Monte Carlo last week, and in the wake of that match, the 20-year-old Serbian said British tennis players need to show more hunger.
"In the UK a lot of kids are a little bit spoilt. If you have perfect conditions and everything you want, you don't know the real meaning of tennis and you don't work as hard as you are supposed to. You do not have hunger for success because everything is on a plate. I think you have enough tennis history and enough people who have a big knowledge about tennis who will recognise the problem, and you still have a lot of potential and everything you need. You just have to find the right moment and to change the mentality of the coaches and the kids."
"Murray has enough quality, enough talent, and enough potential to be a top-five player, and everybody expects him to do that. But obviously he has so much pressure on him because Great Britain needs a champion, badly, and a Wimbledon champion especially, so they expect him to do that in the next couple of years, and obviously that creates some pressure. But, throughout his entire career, he's been mentally a very strong player, so I can expect that he's going to come fast to the top five."
