Andy Murray has been seeded 12th at Wimbledon, which starts on Monday at the All England Club.

The British No 1 will avoid the top three seeds - Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic - in the first three rounds, but despite this, Murray says he feels slightly hard done by.

Murray, 21, is ranked 11th in the current world rankings, a place higher than his seeding, which takes into account grass-court performances in the past two years. The Scot was seeded eighth at Wimbledon last year before withdrawing with a wrist injury.

"I feel like I am one of the top grass-court players in the world," Murray said. "But because I missed Wimbledon I am going to lose out because of it, which I think is a little bit tough.

"I personally think it should just be done on the rankings, which is much easier."

"Nowadays there are so many guys who can play well, like Ernests Gulbis, who had a great run at the French Open, so you have just got to try to concentrate on each match. You kind of know what is going on around you, but you try not to look too far ahead."

Federer, who is chasing a sixth straight title, is the top seed in the men's singles, while Ana Ivanovic, the French Open champion and world No 1, is top seed in the women's singles.

The women's seedings are taken directly from the world rankings, leaving Ivanovic as top seed followed by compatriot Jelena Jankovic, former champion Maria Sharapova and Svetlana Kuznetsova. Serena Williams is seeded sixth with sister Venus seventh.
