Zapatero, José Luis Rodríguez the Spanish Socialist leader and Prime Minister. Contrary to normal Spanish naming conventions, he is Mr Zapatero at second mention, using the matronym, rather than the usual Mr Rodríguez, using the patronym. See Spanish surnames

-ze in almost all cases use the -ise ending rather than the -ize. Two of the main exceptions are capsize and synthesizer
