Daydream, a one-day festival based around headliners Radiohead which includes in its lineup Bat for Lashes, Clinic, Low and Liars, is held at Parc del Forum on June 12.

Summercase, a two-day festival with a great lineup that is also staged in Madrid, takes place in the venue from July 18-19. Roll up for a premier rock experience from Interpol, Grinderman, Kaiser Chiefs, Mogwai, The Verve, The Sex Pistols and a load more.

VipINmusic Festival, Zagreb, Croatia - June 3-4

A 20,000 capacity event by Lake Jarun in the centre of Croatia's capital. The city is up-and-coming on the city breaks circuit so why not combine a visit with music from, among others, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, The Prodigy and The Go! Team.

Southside Festival, Tuttlingen, Germany - June 20-22

This major festival in the south of Germany hosts Radiohead, The Wombats, Foo Fighters and The Chemical Brothers. The Hurricane festival that takes place over the same weekend in Echinring near Bremen dates back to 1973. Acts for this environmentally-conscious shindig include the Raconteurs, much-maligned Glasonbury headliner Jay-Z, Yeasayer and The Kooks. The surroundings are beautiful and they boast beaches to chill out on. There's loads of green measures in place during the event.

Quart, Kristiansand, Norway - July 2-5

Set in a park at Kristiansand, with a lake for swimming for good measure, organisers claim to have the most beautiful festival site in Northern Europe.
