Passengers on British Airways can now check in and select their seats from their BlackBerry or web-enabled mobile phone.
The service, at www.ba.com/mobile, allows passengers to access the airline’s timetables as well as real-time arrival and departure information. The information is available in 11 languages and can be viewed without downloading any software to your device.
Chris Carmichael, British Airways’ innovation and planning manager, said: "We are proud to be the first UK airline to offer a remote check-in service in 11 languages. We recognise that our customers have busy lifestyles, and by offering greater accessibility we hope to enhance their overall travel experience."
BA recently launched a similar service for users of the Apple iPhone, which was downloaded more than 16,000 times in the first month.
