TripIt, the travel itinerary management website, is now accessible through a dedicated iPhone application. The application, which is available from today through the App Store, now means you can access all of your forthcoming trips through your iPhone, both on and offline. The application is available for download free of charge.
The app gives iPhone users clickable links and direct dial numbers to airlines, hotels and restaurants from your pre-registered trip. TripIt also has versions for the BlackBerry and other smartphones via m.tripit.com.
Users of TripIt manage their itineraries online through the TripIt website by sending confirmation emails from hundreds of different treavel companies, including the likes of British Airways, easyJet, Hilton, Marriott, Eurostar, Avis and Hertz, to the company. The details of the trip are automatically stripped out of the email and populated into an online itinerary, which you can share with others, such as friends, family and secretaries - a feature that is not yet supported on the iPhone app. You can then synchronise this information with your agenda software, such as Microsoft Outlook or Google Calendar.
