The Connect Festival has one of the most enviable settings of all UK festivals.
Taking place in the grounds of Inverary Castle, the country pile of the Duke of Argyll, it's surrounded by mountains, forests and runs alongside Loch Fyne.
One of the breed of self-styled 'boutique' festivals, with a capacity of 20,000, the lineup is superb for its small size.
We plump for one of the three luxury camping options - there are the intriguing Podpads, eco-friendly Myhabs, and our choice, the pioneers of lazy camping, Tangerine Fields.
On arrival the rain leading up to the event has left the car park slightly sodden but not too muddy. We were pre-warned about 30-minute walk to the festival. The slog makes us a little happier that we don't have to carry camping gear.
The Tangerine Fields area has its own security fences. There's also a rather disconcerting watchtower at the perimeter between us and the 'normal' campsite that makes our smaller enclosed area seem akin to a prison camp. Police and security patrol the perimeter.
There's a range of camping options, we secure a 4-person dome tent with large central area, inflatable double beds and four sleeping bags. The cost is £240 between us. This is the price people are willing to pay to avoid the hassle of putting up their tents and carrying sleeping equipment.
Tipis are available for the super-rich pseudo-hippies, priced at £480 for a two-person and £600 for six people.
The field comes with the peace of mind of added security with no one other than Tangerine wristband holders allowed in the area. There's five portaloos for wristband holders only, but no separate running water. There's rumours of showers for exclusive use of those who have paid extra, but they are miles away and the Scottish skies insist on giving us an increasingly good wash as the weekend progresses.
The problem with Tangerine Fields is it all seems so sterile - row upon row of identikit tents in parallel lines. It detracts from the colour and vibrancy of festival camping, and the interaction that you get with the masses.
We soon learn that there's no late partying in our area, lights out (other than those beamed into our eyes from the security tower) at 2am. We resist the temptation to dig ourselves a Great Escape tunnel - we get muddy enough as it is.
It's clear that the system works for plenty of people - those wanting less hassle and more peace and quiet. Those festival-goers who don't party as hard perhaps or spend as much.
