USP The Yogoloji Centre (the name is a hybrid of yoga, logic, and ji, a Hindi mark of respect) is a karmic haven just five minutes walk from the manic surroundings of London's Victoria Station. It offers one-on-one yoga classes and also Ayurvedic therapies for adults and children.

AMBIENCE The centre is comprised of three floors. The ground floor is the reception, lower ground is a treatment room and the first floor is a one-room yoga practice area. There is only one treatment room, reached by a small staircase behind reception. It is a good size with one treatment bed, and clients listen to ambient music from an i-Pod while the room is scented with an oil burner. The atmosphere is relaxed but professional, not a stark white treatment coat in sight.

QUALITY OF EXPERIENCE I was led downstairs by my therapist Flora, who did a quick Ayurvedic assessment. She told me she had meditated before my arrival and had expected someone with a "Pita-Vata dosha" would arrive, and that's what I had turned out to be. Ayurvedic medicine says that everyone fits into a Pita, Vata or Kapha dosha. This determines what you should eat, what kind of exercise you should take and which treatment you should have.

Flora said my Pita-Vata dosha meant I should avoid strenuous exercise, instead opting for swimming or yoga and should avoid very spicy foods. I was then treated to an Ayurvedic facial massage, which started with an Indian head massage administered while I sat in a chair. I then lay on the bed for the rest of the intensely calming facial massage using lavender oil, to balance the doshas, and rose oil, which apparently calms the skin and mind.

IN-CROWD The centre is clearly designed for those who want bespoke treatments. Flora took time to tailor my therapies to my doshas. Therapists and yoga instructors will travel to client’s homes to administer treatments and give classes, and the main crux of the centre’s business is providing exclusive yoga holidays.

FOOD There is no food on offer but a selection of herbal teas included chamomile and elderflower blended on the premises. The Daylesford Cafe, with all sorts of organic goodies, is a short stroll away in Orange Square.

WALLET WATCH An Indian head massage costs £55; an Ayurvedic consultation is £85; Abyhanga and Marma full-body massage is £150; Thai Yoga massage - £90. Acupuncture - £85; Reiki and Sekhem - £80 and Shirodhara third-eye treatment (where warm oil is applied in a steady stream to the "third eye" - said to deeply calm the nervous system) is £120.
