Attend an evening with Andre Agassi
3. I was on a Trans Caribbean Airlines early 1970s - a "redeye" Newark-San Juan flight with 50 passengers, 25 of whom were a Puerto Rican pater familias and his relatives. The 'plane levels off and he opens the monster suitcase he's carrying. Inside is a whole roasted pig - Laurence Tenney, San Francisco, USA
4. I love airline food - one of the best parts of any long-haul flight. It's all about the packets, the bread roll, the foil on top of the juice. How exciting (sad indeed) - Ian, York
5. Flew BA to Baltimore in 2007, some wally set fire to the economy class meals. We got served the leftovers, pasta salad, and lots of cake and the crew did extra booze runs to assuage our disappointment. Eliminating the main course; best meal I've ever had with BA - Alex, London
6. If you want proper BA food, don't go with the flow - pick the Asian Vegetarian option. Delicious. Even comes with mini popadoms, yoghurt dip and pickle! - Subir G, London
7. Best economy meal ever was steak pie, Finnair. Even wrote to them complementing it, and bought their recipe book, "Heavenly food" But that was 15 years ago - Andy, Oulu, Finland
8. Best meals? A Thai beef curry with Sri Lankan airlines flying from Bangkok to Hong Kong. Steak in pepper cream sauce with copious amounts of D'Arenberg Stump Jump Shiraz with Delta, flying Heathrow to Atlanta. Admittedly, both flights I managed business class upgrades - Martin, Bristol, UK
9. I love the anticipation of what is under those little foil trays. Considering the fact you're thousands of feet in the air, you shouldn't expect too much from your airline food....some of you seem to think you should be getting haute cuisine - Lorna, Edinburgh
10. My all-time fave airline meals were the most delicious fillet steak and all trimmings, BA, LHR-NBI Sept 1977 and the Anzac biscuits on Quantas internal Oz flights the following year and in 1988 - Katie Foot, Versoix, Switzerland
11. Go vegetarian to get the tastiest best food. I recommend the veg options on Air India and Gulf Air. Virgin isn't bad either - Richard, London
12. One airline I flew with recently gave me a meal with coloured foil on top. Must have been psycological but it really did seem to taste much better than they usually do - Miimii, Japan
13. The best meal I ever had was on Air France Paris-Cairo at Nouveau Beaujolais time, 1987. Ris de veau catered by Maxime's with "all the fixin's" and, after I "passed" on the vin très ordinaire obligatoire, an excellent Château Mouton Rothschild '62. STILL a memorable meal and wine - Laurence Tenney, San Francisco (ps: you can read his 2nd best meal at No3)
14. Not quite food but whoever is the head sommelier of KLM is doing a superb job. Fantastic selection of wine - Pete, Ashbourne, UK
15. Can't believe you left out Air France - they are in a league of their own! I was treated to a sumptious dinner on a flight from Paris to Lagos, and never had anything like it since - Christian, London
