Head to the London Smile Clinic and they’ll photograph your mouth, then fiddle about with the image on a computer to decide how porcelain veneers can transform your look (you can go as A-list as you like, but perfect teeth looked strange on less-than-perfect me). You’ll be issued with a set of temporary veneers that day – so that you can trial your smile, before the permanent veneers are fitted the following week. Guaranteed to make you more cheery.

BOTTOM/THIGHS

The full bodysuit is more catastrophe than catwalk, but if fans such as Elle Macpherson, Claudia Schiffer and Lisa Snowdon can handle it in the quest for beauty, so can you. A hand-held machine is vacuumed all over your saggy bits, ‘suctioning’ fat cells that exercise cannot reach. Add muscle-tightening stretches, and the contouring skills of your therapist, and you’ll end up ‘steamrollered’ into shape.

This is one for long-haul planners as it takes about six sessions before results start to show (you’ll look worse before you’ll look better); after 20, it will definitely improve your skin’s appearance, losing centimetres in the process. It doesn’t come cheap, but there’s no better way to get your bottom beach-ready.

FOREHEAD

No point in having a perfect body, if your face gives the guess-my-age game away. If the idea of injecting poison into your head doesn’t do it for you, book a few sessions in London with John Tsagaris, a smooth-foreheaded forty-something who is the poster boy for eternal youth. Using acupuncture and shiatsu to stimulate collagen production and reduce puffiness around the eyes, (as well as a tiny electric current to stimulate those facial muscles), he works his magic on ladies who lunch, and gets booked up months in advance. It feels a bit uncomfortable (like itching, really) but you’ll leave significantly more glowy – though maintaining the look by subscribing to Tsagaris’s caffeine, sugar and alcohol-free diet might not appeal.

FEET

The glamorous Margaret Dabbs has an unexpectedly mumsy approach to the pedicure, sorting defective tootsies with soothing mumblings about everything not being that bad. This is the woman who’s brought marathon-weary Paula Radcliffe’s feet back from the dead, so don’t expect pretty polish and perfume. Instead, you’ll get a sound going over with the chiropodist’s toolkit, and feet that stay flip-flop ready the whole summer long. Her army of pedicurists across four London clinics are dedicated to following in her footsteps, and are very nearly as good.
