The Foreign Office has relaxed its advice for travellers planning to fly into Bangkok following the recent airport protests.
While warning of potentially more disruption, the FCO now merely advices travellers to check with their airline or tour operator before setting out.
It is a step back from advice issued yesterday evening which suggested travellers avoid flying into Bangkok for "the foreseeable future."
The advice now reads: "The airports are slowly returning to normal. However, the political situation remains uncertain.
"Anti-government demonstrators have threatened to blockade Bangkok airports again should their political demands not be met. Further serious disruption to the transport network cannot be ruled out. Please check with your airline or tour operator if you intend to travel into or through Bangkok airports and monitor this advice.
"It is likely to be several days before normal flight schedules are resumed. If you are currently in Bangkok waiting to fly back to the UK or elsewhere, you should monitor this advice closely and keep in touch with your airline or tour operator."
The FCO suggests to travellers already in Thailand that they should first contact their airline for assistance if they have no accommodation.
"If they are unwilling or unable to help, you should contact the Tourist Authority of Thailand for advice," says the FCO.

I want to cancel my holiday and because the FCO won't get off the fence...I stand to lose £4,000+ if i do. Thomas Cooks will not help at all unless the flight has to be cancelled. So, if you're there and there's more unrest tough!! You insurance is invalid.
