PREVIOUS WINNERS
May
Kerry Grainger from St Andrews, Scotland, was the winner with her photo taken on a balloon ride in Egypt. Kerry won a first-class Eurostar trip to Paris with Railbookers and a 12in x 16in print from Metro Imaging.
April
Michael Gibson from Balham, South London, is the winner of this month's competition with an enchanting image of alpaca grazing on the Altiplano in Peru in March (picture 1 in the april gallery).
“We were driving between Arequipa and the Colca Canyon when we came across this herd of alpaca grazing by a lagoon at 3,500m (11,500ft). The water was motionless and gave great reflections of the clear Andean sky.”
March
Emma Boa from Edinburgh was the winner in March her startling image taken at the Ellora caves in Maharashtra (picture one in the best of March gallery).
“We were wandering around a dimly lit cave, with the sun pouring in through the crumbling door frame, when a group of schoolchildren swathed in white and orange broke up the light.
“The hazy daylight and dark interior of the cave, and the small, shrouded figures in the doorway, give this image an eerie, otherworldly quality.”
Congratulations, Emma, you win two return flights to Stockholm with SAS and a 12in x 16in print from Metro Imaging.
February
Frederico Colarejo, 30, from Portugal, was February's winner with his photo of the Pink City Market in Jaipur, Rajasthan. “I took it last month while on a trip to India to celebrate my 30th birthday. It was the end of the day, so the light was pretty amazing.
"While I was walking in the market I saw this kid selling textiles and the black horse at the back caught my attention. I like the image because of its composition, colours, the mysterious horse and the kid smiling, unaware of my presence. “I work in a health-food shop in Bristol and do photography in my spare time. I still don't have my own web page, but I'm working on it.”

I have just bought a Nikon D40 and am starting out as a photographer. It would be great for you guys to do a piece on the best digital camera courses out there (that won't cost an arm and a leg) for keen amateurs like myself.

If you click on the words "have your say" then the words "hide the form" appear, I am wondering if we are supposed to use this comments format also to send photos?
Julie, Hertford,
Yes, where on Earth is the link to enter the competition!?
Kerry Bangle, London,
cant see how to enter the photo competion ??????????
where is a link?
entry form?
Sue Wells, Lee on Solent, England
yes, i would imagine that when the t&cs state that it is open to UK and ROI residents, this does mean ONLY UK and ROI residents. I remember this question being asked before for another competition, and someone from the times responded. can't remember the reason, but I imagine it is the same.
S, London, UK
In the 3rd terms and conditions list, it stated that "Unless otherwise stated, the competition is open to all residents of the UK and ROI...". Does this mean that this competition is ONLY open to UK and ROI residents only?
David Henshaw, Alaior, SPAIN
I think it's extremely unfair that the prize holiday cannot be taken during peak periods. That immediately excludes myself and all other teachers who may also be keen photographers. In the extremely unlikely event of winning I could not receive the prize, this is discrimination against teachers!!
Jean Bailey, Bedford, Beds
In the 3rd terms and conditions list, it stated that "Unless otherwise stated, the competition is open to all residents of the UK and ROI...". Does this mean that this competition is ONLY open to UK and ROI residents only?
Louie Ponce, Cebu, Philippines
First saw ladies carrying large items on their heads in Kenya in 1983 - thought it was amazing then and I think it is just as amazing now !!!
Ian Payne, WALSALL,
There seems to be probel with the pop up whenever I try to open it up. When it finally does open it is not possible to see the bottom of the page and click the arrow to move onto the next picture. Can you please tell me why?
