Mark Frary (TT, left) and the ST's Sean Newsom
Attend a special evening hosted by Mike Atherton

Our two editorial titans of the slopes pit their opinions against each other again on the latest big issue - which are the best ski videos? And not just pretty ski ones. Last week, we had a Bob Dylan pastiche on a snowboard and drunken apres-ski at the Mooserwirt. We complete their raid on the internet with another ten. Let us know your favourites on the comment form
Mark Frary, wintersports editor of The Times:
1. The biggest faceplant? This just has to be a set-up, the timing of the ‘Woahh’ is just too perfect for me. Even so, I laughed long and hard knowing that he’s unlikely to have hurt himself in that soft snow.
2. Master of the moguls Canadian Pierre-Alexandre Rousseau takes the World Championship for moguls in Italy. How does he get his knees to flex like that?
3. Silliest ski ad ever? No idea what this advert is supposed to be promoting but this is a real giggle.
4. Sexy Swiss instructor Switzerland Tourism has excelled itself in recent years with its television ads. This ski one – showing a hunky Swiss instructor followed by a never-ending snake of female clients – is a classic. The music is spot-on too.
5. Awesome first descent Terje Haakonsen makes the first descent of a peak called 7601, the steepest mountain in Alaska with a pitch of 65 degrees. Check out the helicopter perched precariously on the peak and then that flawless descent.
Sean Newsom, wintersports editor of The Sunday Times:
6. Clouds There's a common misconception that the Brits can't make good ski films.
Well, some of them can - notably Melody Sky, who's based out in Verbier each winter. One of her most seductive pieces of work is the cloud sequence at the start of Winter Requiem.
7. Warning: this film may give you nightmares This one comes with a mental health warning. Jason Horton, of Method Snowboard Magazine is the man responsible, and it was another entry in the Tignes JibVid competition. Pure, twisted genius.
8. Two ways into a couloir Clip 1 Clip 2 Compare these two Whistler clips. The first is a copy-book demonstration of how to enter a couloir. The second isn't.
9. How steep? Free-skiing ace Sverre Lillequist shows us how to ski a near-vertical slope.
10. A lucky escape From Verbier. Nice to know his mate caught it all on video.
