This piste-side restaurant has a large terrace with sofas and balconies for great views. There’s a range of alcoholic, soft and hot drinks, plus tempting tarts and cakes. For lunch there’s hearty pasta, pizza and home-cooked alpine dishes from around €15.

Aspen Lodge is VIP’s flagship property and is more like an all-suite hotel, with 12 chalet-style suites in one building – the views get better, and the prices higher, as you go up.

This three-star hotel has a town centre location with easy slope access, 29 bedrooms, Jacuzzi and sauna. Rooms for one person cost from €129 to €205, or from €260 for €460 for four sharing.
These apartments at the bottom of the World Cup run are a short bus ride from Val d’Isere – which is free with a ski pass. Crystal offers them from £399 per person a week including flights.

This Val institution hosts live bands every night - sometimes two a night - and is famous for its cheap beers (from €3) and sticky carpets.
A young crowd parties here in ski boots all night long. Hearty snacks including the famous Moris Pub burger are served 4pm to 9pm for around €10 a plate.

This historic restaurant overlooks the nursery slopes and serves skiers in the day with tasty pasta dishes and good mountain food priced at €24 for two courses.
The restaurants changes personality for the evening when the fine dining menu takes over and the clientele ditch ski suits for something a little more elegant. Prices increase to €50 for two courses in the evening or a tasting menu for €49 including wine.
