On the subject of EasyJet’s speedy boarding, I was refused a refund of my £10 fee after the priority boarding failed to happen on a flight back from Paris, so I decided to take matters further. I have just cashed a cheque for £625 from the small-claims court after winning my case there. EasyJet never even contested it. I suspect the airline just hoped I’d go away. Andy Pycock, Milton Keynes
EasyJet replies: “Speedy boarding is a non-refundable service, which we make clear at the time of booking. This passenger e-mailed us 21 times asking for a refund. Eventually, we had to advise him that we could not continue to debate the matter. Due to an oversight, we did not respond to the court case and subsequently lost.”

Maybe I have just missed the point? Why is it not possible to reserve a numbered seat as is the case with the 'quality' airlines? Surely this would eliminate much anxiety and the fear of being crushed in the rugby scrum.

Easyjet, guarantees that you will be among the to be called to board the plane. If passengers add this option based on the aforementioned representation to be among the first to be board the plane, it becomes a contractual condition, breach of which will allow an aggrieved passenger to sue.

John, Berlin, wise up if the airline isn't responsible for speedy boarding why do they take money for it? If they take the money than they accept the responsibility and if things don't work out they should pay for that.
Mark Jones, Cardiff, Cardiff
People, get over yourselves... if Speedy Boarding does not happen, it is not becuase of the Airline, sue the Ground Handling companies, they are the ones who have to get to the aircraft. easyJets only responsibilty is to get you to your destination. I am getting sick and tired of 'speedy boarders'

taking out their complaints with my Cabin Crew when it is totally out of my control!!

The exact same thing happened to me. I even had in writing that we could claim cost of meal, hotel and transport to and from the airport but when | put in my claim with receipts, they refused to refund the full amount. Please let me know if you get anywhere with the legal claim. Aruna, Vienna

Easy Jet seems to be ignoring all customer claims when it concerns money. In June, 2008 I was travelling from Munich to London Stanstead, but the flight was cancelled. When I claimed compensation I was declined that the reason for the cancellation was an extraordinary circumstance.
Eva, London,
I asked Easy Jet to explain what the circumstance was and why did they consider it to be extraordinary but haven't got any response yet. I sent them reminder, fax, letter. I am going to take legal action against them. I wonder if there are more people with similar experience???
Eva, London,
Well done on this. "Speedy boarding is a non refundable service" what a load of tosh. If you don't provide the service you should be refunding!
