I have bought two Ryanair return tickets to Dublin, but we are not able to use
them. Can I sell them to someone else, on eBay for example? Robin
Rostron, by email
A Sunday Times travel expert responds: The sale of tickets
for air travel is strictly regulated in the UK, by the Civil Aviation
Authority (CAA), and unless you are a bona fide travel agent with an ATOL
(AIR Travel Organisers Licence), then you are not allowed to sell flight
tickets. For this reason, eBay will remove attempts to sell tickets by the
general public.
Unfortunately, that just leaves the option of changing the reservation via the
airline that you have booked with, on payment of an amendment fee. Ryanair
will allow you to change the name on a booking for a fee of £70 per person,
or alternatively you might consider changing the dates on your flights to
Dublin, or opting for a different destination later on. Changing the dates
or the route, is of course subject to availability, and will cost £24pp per
one-way flight if done via www.ryanair.com,
or £48pp per one-way flight if done via the Ryanair call centre, 0871 246
000.
For bookings with other airlines, you must check with the airline that you
have booked with directly. In many cases, they will impose a fee for making
a change to your booking, although in other instances, particularly if the
fare is a heavily discounted one, you might not be able to make changes to
the booking.

I'm not a travel 'expert' but the straight answer to ths question is 'no', Ryanair put you through so many hoops to make any kind of change that it's effectively cheaper to buy a new ticket so if you can't travel then just write it off.
